Lawnton newborn photographer

I’ve known Michael for a very long time. He’s been friends with my nephews since they were teenagers and has acquired quite a reputation for being a bit of a cheeky rascal. I’ve witnessed Michael in action as he was groomsman at both my nephew’s weddings (which I photographed) and subsequently provided the entertainment with his larikin ways and I have to say, a fabulous rendition of “Afternoon Delight” after a speech that left us all in hysterics.
So when I discovered he was engaged and having a baby…well I just had to meet the girl who settled him down. Charissa is just the loveliest girl and Michael is clearly besotted with both Charissa and his new son Alex.
I asked Charissa a little bit about how they met…
“Michael asked me on a date half a dozen times, and tried to kiss me many times before I agreed to go out on a date with him. He would even introduce me as his girlfriend to people before it was official. I realised on our first date what I’d been missing out on; we hit it off and drunk Sangria all night long.
We’d barely been dating a year when we decided we wanted to make a lifetime of memories together and so we got engaged and decided we’d have a baby.”
Charissa and Michael came to my studio for a last minute maternity shoot the day before Alex’s due date. However Alex had other ideas and stayed put for another 2 weeks! Alex finally arrived weighing a healthy 8 lb and 51cm long.
“Labour was an amazing journey for me. It was such a special day for Michael and I.” Charissa said.
Charissa had a natural 15 hour birth without any drugs. Michael cut the umbilical cord and in typical Michael style described it as “just like calamari…but really it was the brightest blue, the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Just like the people in the movie Avatar”.
Congratulations to you both on the arrival of your gorgeous baby boy and thank you both for allowing me to share your story.
Much love,
Alison xx
