Looking for an un-boring, NO cheese, full of personality & FUN photographer? Hi there! You found me.

How to Capture Fun Family Portraits

There’s a few tricks to capturing fun family portraits. Firstly, where is your happy place? There’s no point going to the beach if you hate sand and salt water. Wherever your happy place is, that’s where you should have your family portraits. When fellow photographer Claire booked me for her family session, she told me about their love of the beach. So we drove to Caloundra, one their favourite spots to hang-out. Because just like music and photos, visiting your ‘happy place’ brings back memories. It might be a place you’ve holidayed or where you met your partner. Maybe it’s the place you proposed or even got married. Whatever it is, think about a place that’s special or significant to you. I guarantee, if you plan to have your family portraits at your favourite place, half the work is already done!

Pack a Picnic

YES! Make an afternoon of it. Pack your family a delicious picnic hamper; filled with chocolates, cheeses and wine. Whatever your favourites foods are, bring it along. Because why not make an afternoon if it? The family portrait will only last just over an hour so celebrate with some delicious food when it’s all done.

Be Yourselves

Don’t be scared to be silly. Photography is all about capturing your personality so if you want to go a little crazy, go for it.

And NEVER be afraid to DAB.

Bring Your Toys for your Family Portraits

This is especially useful when photographing little people. They have a very short attention span so bringing along their favourite toys makes the photography session fun for them. It also helps the photographer to capture some nice natural images of your little ones playing.
