Wedding photography on the Gold Coast
I’m often asked if I travel for weddings and the truth is…YES! I LOVE going to new places and in my 20 years as a wedding photographer I’ve visited many fabulous locations and wedding venues. And I absolutely LOVE Gold Coast wedding photography!
One of my favourites is the Gold Coast & beautiful Currumbin beach. What’s not to love? There’s the gorgeous beach, fabulous rocks and the lookout. And you can chill-out at the surf club with a sneaky beverage and a bit of whale watching.
Plan your Gold Coast wedding photography at the beach
One thing to remember for you Gold Coast wedding photography, is the wind! While the backdrop is stunning, beaches are notoriously windy. What will your hair be like in the day? If you’re planning on an up-style, you’ll most likely be fine. But if you’re having your hair down, factor in the effects of the wind on your appearance and your photos. Get your hairdresser to overload your hair with hairspray to ensure it stills reasonably in place. And if you’re wearing a veil, the wind can make for some awesome veil shots! Just be sure to pin that sucker in tight 🙂
What to wear on your feet
High heels look fabulous but chances are, you’ll be walking on the sand. And not very well either! High heels are NOT beach friendly. Many brides will take a back-up pair of fancy thongs to wear during their Gold Coast wedding photography. And some will just go barefoot. Whatever you choose to wear, comfort is everything so keep this in mind when heading out to the beach for your photos.
