Meet Claire and her gorgeous family. I must admit, I was a little nervous about photographing Claire and her family. Claire is a fellow North Brisbane family photographer so while I was super-excited and quite honoured that she asked me to photograph her family, I was also a little nervous. Claire told me they hadn’t had family photos in 10 years and it was time for an update. So we met up the beach on a very windy Saturday afternoon, shared some laughs and took some pretty pics 🙂
Couples portraits
And when you have your family portraits, don’t forget to have some couples portraits! After all, you’re the reason your family exists. And your kids don’t know you as a couple, they know you as Mum and Dad. Take a moment for yourselves to reminisce about the early days, before you had kids when it was just the two of you. And your kids will love having a beautiful portrait of their Mum and Dad.
Show Your Character
And…DAB! Your family photographs should show your personality. You might forget in 10 or 15 years time that ‘dabbing’ was even a thing! Don’t be shy. Be yourself, go a little crazy! It’ll give you something to look back on and laugh about when you’re an adult. And maybe even teach your own children a thing or two!
