Wedding Photography Packages
Congratulations on your engagement! Wedding photography is one of the ‘big ticket’ items for your wedding day right? There are so many different wedding photography packages and inclusions on offer. So when booking your photographer you’ll need to know exactly what’s included and what you’re getting when researching wedding photography packages.
What To Ask?
Let’s assume you’ve found an amazing photographer whose style you love, you get along fabulously and the seem to know what’s needed to help make your wedding day fun, relaxed and run smoothly. One of the questions I always get asked is:
“How many images will we get?”
It’s a fair question. For me, I don’t put a limit on images taken throughout the day. It all depends on hours of coverage, number of people or how much time we spend traveling. However, this isn’t standard practice for all wedding photographers. Some will give you a set amount of images so if that’s not what you’re looking for, make sure you ask!
“Are they watermarked?”
Let’s be honest, what good is a watermarked image from your wedding day? It’s fine if it’s a separate folder of images for social media sharing. And this can actually protect your wedding images from being stolen by unscrupulous photographers. And sadly it happens! However, you will also want ALL of your images without watermarks so you can print some for family, friends or create some gorgeous artwork for your wall.
“What’s included in my wedding photography packages?”
How long is a piece of string? This will vary between photographers depending on their style and business model. Many photographers, myself included, will include a blog of wedding highlights so you can show your friends and family your special day. Some will include albums, others will include prints, some like myself will include credit towards a fine-art album. Printed products are AMAZING and I encourage all my couples to invest in an album or beautiful artwork for their wall.
When to Book?
If you’ve found a photographer and you love their style, do not hesitate because there are no guarantees with wedding photographers. It is such a fickle industry. So if you’ve found ‘the one’ then book them in STAT!
