CONGRATULATIONS! So, now you’re engaged it’s time to plan the wedding. One of the first things to book for your wedding is the venue. An amazing wedding venue with beautiful scenery and amazing staff, can make all the difference on your big day. So, I’ve complied a list of some of the Best Brisbane wedding venues I’ve seen as a photographer.
Brisbane is a bustling and vibrant city that offers an eclectic mix of stunning garden venues, industrial themed buildings, non-denominational chapels, and golf clubs. There is a wedding venue to suit every couple’s taste. Yep, Brisbane has it all. And over the past 25+ years as a wedding photographer, I’ve visited many of them. So, let’s have a lookie at some of the Best Brisbane Wedding Venues.
In no particular order, LET’S GO!
1. Hillstone St Lucia- Best Brisbane Wedding Venue
You’ll find Hillstone in St Lucia, just 10 minutes from the city. Since their very first wedding in 1987, Hillstone have hosted over 3500 weddings. They clearly know what they’re doing when it comes to weddings. The venue is surrounded by a lush green golf course and stunning parklands making it the perfect venue for your wedding and reception.
Not to mention the venue provides helpful staff, tasty drinks and delicious food.
Nestled in St Lucia, Hillstone offers two ceremony spaces and three reception areas. Its lush surroundings and elegant interiors make it a premier choice for couples.


2. The Black Brisbane
You’ll find The Black in Albion, just 5 minutes north of the CBD. The Black Brisbane combines industrial heritage charm with modern sophistication. This refurbished builder’s yard features a funky bar and an arbor-covered courtyard, and can accommodate up to 200 guests. And to add to the ambience, The Black has rustic fire pits, open-air cooking, making it a cosy spot for celebrations.

3. Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
This venue is a popular location for outdoor weddings. Bundaleer Gardens is nestled amongst 4 acres of rainforest gardens in Brookfield, just 20 minutes from Brisbane City.
Bundaleer offers two beautiful outdoor ceremony locations. You can get married under the sprawling Jacaranda tree or down by the creek. The venue is also popular for elopements with mid-week ‘micro-wedding’ packages.
Bundaleer also caters for wedding receptions up to 100 guest.
But wherever you choose for your ceremony, you’re guaranteed stunning photos of your wedding day.
Weddings are their specialty which makes Bundaleer Gardens one of the best Brisbane wedding venues around.


3. The Joinery
Located in West End, The Joinery offers a funky mix of contemporary design and industrial charm. With its high ceilings and polished concrete floors, this urban chic venue is perfect for large sit down receptions to a more relaxed, cocktail style reception.
4. Victoria Park– Best Brisbane Wedding Venue
Another amazing Brisbane wedding venue is Victoria Park, located right near the CBD in Herston. So, it’s just a short drive if you’re staying in the city. Victoria Park offers a range of indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony. The photo opportunities around the sprawling golf course provide a view of the city or the stunning tree-lined fairways.
Not to mention the food is fabulous, and the staff provide amazing service.
And there’s mini-golf.
It’s worth a look, even if just for a weekend of fun.


5. Factory 51
Situated in Coorparoo, Factory 51 is an amazing industrial warehouse turned funky chic venue. It offers boutique beverages and Italian-inspired cuisine, it’s a popular spot for food lovers and date nights. And when it comes to weddings, Factory 51 has multiple layouts so they can accommodate small and intimate weddings or large wedding receptions. The venue is suited for up to 150 seated guests or cocktail receptions for 180.

6. Ovolo Inchcolm Hotel -Brisbane
The Ovolo Inchcolm Hotel is an uber-funky hotel and is perfect if you’re after some funky wedding photos. It’s described as eclectic, sophisticated, curious, and embraces a rock n roll vibe. It’s located on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane. It was built in the 1930’s and was once a private residence and medical practice. Its website says the following about the hotel:
“Think Gertrude Stein’s Paris salon, where Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Picasso and Matisse would comfortably rub shoulders while sharing trailblazing ideas and indulging in gourmet food and wine.” So if you’re looking for an unusual and quirky venue for your Brisbane wedding, or if you’re just a lover of art and music, then check out Ovolo Inchcolm Hotel!
Its intimate spaces are perfect for smaller, sophisticated weddings.


7. Smoked Garage
If you’re looking for a venue overflowing with character, Smoked Garage in Fortitude Valley is it. The venue offers a unique blend of vintage and industrial decor with funky exposed brick walls, mosaic tiles and antique leather couches. It was once a motorcycle workshop but now has a second life as a funky, chic, urban venue for weddings, photoshoots and events.
8. Walkabout Creek
Known as ‘Brisbane’s Best Kept Secret’, you’ll find Walkabout Creek just 25 minutes west of Brisbane, nestled in the leafy Enoggera Reservoir, at The Gap. Walkabout Creek is perfect for events, conferences, and weddings. With its picturesque bushland setting or wedding lawn overlooking the lake, making it one of the best Brisbane wedding venues for nature-loving couples.

9. The Refinery
Once voted Brisbane’s Best Wedding Venue by the Courier Mail, The Refinery is a beautifully renovated warehouse that blends industrial charm with modern elegance. The Refinery is in Newstead, just north of Brisbane CBD and features polished concrete floors, an 11-meter New York marble bar, and sleek black VJ panelling.
The venue also boasts a 150m² private outdoor garden, perfect for ceremonies and cocktail hours. And with a seating capacity of up to 110 guests and standing room for 160, The Refinery caters to both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. The awesome team at The Refinery are dedicated to helping couples bring their unique vision to life, making it an ideal venue for weddings.

10. 1889 Enoteca Italian Restaurant
This fabulous little Italian restaurant in Woolloongabba is perfect if you’re after an intimate wedding and reception or just something a little different from the norm. 1889 Enoteca is part of the heritage listed Moreton Rubber Works building and is located in the antique quarter of Woolloongabba. The owners have incorporated a funky basement cellar room for private dining and functions for up to 42 people.
And the outside of the venue is amazing if you’re after some wedding photos with a difference! So if you’re looking for a wedding venue for your small and intimate Brisbane wedding, check out 1889 Enoteca. The food is also amazing!

11. The Warehouse
At The Warehouse, you’ll discover all of the elegance and charm you’d expect from heritage-listed buildings. Located in Fortitude Valley, The Warehouse is an eclectic blend of stylish decor and historic charm. It was restored in 1905 and features funky exposed brick walls and a glass ceiling. Its vintage charm adds character to any celebration, and with multiple wedding areas, it’s perfect for functions, events and weddings.
12. The Brisbane Racing Club
The Brisbane Racing Club is not just for horse lovers. It’s a fantastic venue for your ceremony, your wedding photos and your reception.
Located in Eagle Farm, not far from Brisbane CBD, you’ll find a unique setting of old-world charm, heritage listed buildings and beautiful scenery.
If you’re looking for an all-in-one venue for your special day, Brisbane Racing Club is perfect .

13. Rainforest Gardens
Nestled atop Mount Cotton, Rainforest Gardens offers a peaceful setting amidst lush greenery. It’s perfect for couples seeking an intimate, nature-inspired, unique wedding. This 27-acre property offers breathtaking views of Moreton Bay, and with a tropical wedding garden overlooking a lagoon, it provides an idyllic spot for your wedding.
And if your guests are keen for a weekend away, Rainforest Gardens offers on-site luxury chalet accommodation for guests.

14. Cherbon Waters
You’ll find Cherbon Waters in Burbank, just 25 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD. The venue offers stunning gardens and picturesque views of the lake. And there are two options for your wedding ceremony, the gazebo in the gardens, or the marquee. Cherbon Waters offer picturesque photographic opportunities and a complete wedding service to make your day perfect.

15. Old Petrie Town
I admit, I’m rather fond of Old Petrie Town. Because it’s just a 5-minute drive from me, I’m familiar with this heritage listed venue. You’ll find Old Petrie Town just 26 km north of Brisbane and it is full of old-world charm. With its vintage farm machinery, old fire station, heritage listed pub and stunning century old fig trees, there’s no shortage of variety for your wedding photos.For couples wanting a more traditional church wedding, there’s even an old chapel for your ceremony.


16. Sirromet Wines
What can I say? They had me at wine.
Sirromet is a seriously amazing venue located in Mt Cotton just south of Brisbane. And with experienced staff, you’ll be well looked after on your wedding day.
As for wedding photos, there’s the vineyard, the lake and the picturesque green fields. There are no limits to the number of incredible photos at this location.
So this one is definitely one of the best Brisbane wedding venues for wine-loving everywhere.


17. Indooroopilly Golf Club
Indooroopilly Golf Club offers a variety of locations for both your ceremony and your reception.
The grounds are immaculate making it the ideal location for your wedding photos. And there are so many stunning backdrops, including their gorgeous funky art-covered wall, Moreton Bay fig trees, tree lined pathways and the rolling hills of the golf course.


18. Ocean View Estates
Ocean View is a beautiful rural suburb surrounded by rolling hills and pastures north of Brisbane. Nestled on top of a hill, Ocean View Estates has spectacular panoramic views, elegant food, luxury cabin accommodation and award-winning wine. So there’s no shortage of photo opportunities for your wedding here!
Ocean View Estates offer multiple locations for your ceremony and have a dedicated reception room for large weddings or the restaurant for smaller celebrations.
And did I mention they make wine?
Ocean View Estates is one of the best Brisbane wedding venues on the north side of Brisbane.


19. The Brisbane Registry Office
The Brisbane Registry Office has become even more popular for weddings since its relocation to Ann Street in Brisbane’s CBD.
It offers two modern ceremony rooms with panoramic views of the city. The Brisbane Registry Office is perfect for elopements or if you’re having a small and intimate family wedding.
And it’s conveniently located within walking distance to Roma Street parklands for those newlyweds wanting to wedding photos with some of Brisbane’s finest gardens.

20. Clear Mountain Lodge
Clear Mountain Lodge provides a scenic bush-land setting, ensuring your wedding photos will be spectacular! Clear Mountain Lodge is a bush-land retreat nestled in the hills of Clear Mountain, just 35 minutes from the CBD. As well as a wedding pavilion overlooking Lake Samsonvale and the Glasshouse Mountains, they offer hotel accommodation. So you and your guests can drag your celebrations out all weekend.

20.Tattersalls
Tattersalls is located in the heart of Brisbane city. It offers a blend of historic charm and modern luxury for weddings. Established in 1926, this heritage-listed venue features Art Deco interiors, high ceilings and marble columns.They also have an abundance of function spaces to choose from and the added bonus of having your ceremony and reception at the same location.
Couples can choose from spaces like the Members’ Bar, with its gilded ceiling and parquetry dance floor, or the elegant Members’ Dining Room, which boasts a 10-metre-high marble ceiling.


21. The Brisbane Powerhouse
The Brisbane Powerhouse is not only a popular spot for wedding photos, it’s also a really cool venue for your wedding and reception. This iconic landmark is located in New Farm and its architecture is urban grunge meets industrial. The funky brick walls make a very unusual, yet fabulous backdrop for your wedding photos. As any Brisbane wedding photographer knows, the Powerhouse is a well-known location for photography.
In fact, it’s not uncommon to arrive and have to wait in line for photos against the famous industrial building and its eclectic brick wall.
The Powerhouse offers private rooms for your reception and a deck overlooking the Brisbane River for your wedding ceremony. So if you’re looking for a funky venue that mixes urban grunge and the arts, this is the place.
And the food, the wine and the entertainment are great there too.


22. RiverLife
You’ll find RiverLife overlooking the Brisbane River at the base of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Riverlife is a popular choice for weddings with its picturesque waterfront setting. With stunning city skyline views and lush parklands, it provides a romantic backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. 26. Cloudland, Fortitude Valley
Cloudland in Fortitude Valley is one of the most fun, quirky and eclectic wedding venues in Brisbane. If you’re after a wedding venue that’s totally different, then you can’t go past this one.
Cloudland offers enchantment and a luxury experience for all couples. This funky venue features a waterfall, indoor gardens, love seats and sparkling chandeliers. It also has a bar made from a million glass balls, which is super-cool for photos!

29. Virginia Golf Club
Virginia Golf Club in Banyo, is just 20 minutes north of Brisbane. The golf club offers a picturesque setting for wedding ceremonies and photography with its manicured fairways, lakes and rolling hills.
The club features a spacious function room with floor-to-ceiling glass and a private terrace for your guests to mingle. The venue can accommodate up to 160 guests.
