A Catholic Church Wedding
Jess and Tom are the sweetest couple! They met back in 2010 at Australian Catholic University where they were both studying Primary Education. So it made sense that they chose to have a catholic church wedding at St Agatha’s Parish in Clayfield. When I asked Jess how they got together, she said that Tom was quite unaware of the huge crush she had on him. However, Tom finally caught on to the fact Jess was keen on him and in 2018, 8 years later, on New Years Eve, they got engaged!
Why did you choose Alison Cooke Photography to photograph your Catholic Church wedding?
Jess says her Mum did her research for her.
“My mum found Alison online and I researched some of Alison’s photographs on Facebook and Instagram. I liked Alison’s photography style”.
The One Thing You HAD To Have For Your Wedding?
Our chosen minister Fr. Adrian Farrelly as we had known him within our Parish for 8 years.
What Made Your Wedding Amazing?
Jess says there are a few things that made their day so amazing, and in true teacher style, she gave me dot points 🙂
- The Best man was thoroughly organised
- Tom cried and Jess didn’t
- Tom’s reaction when he turned around to see Jess walking down the aisle.
- Celebrating it with their friends and family
- Having students from Jess’s class attend the Mass
Did You Have Help Planning the Wedding?
Jess says she used a diary from Kikki to keep track of meetings, appointments, bookings and budgets. If you haven’t yet checked out Kikki’s range of products, get on over to the website. The products are AMAZING!
Jess says her Mum and her sister also helped with the wedding plans.
What Tips Would You Pass Onto Future Couples?
- Keep it simple
- Doesn’t matter how well planned you are you can’t control everything on your day
- Stop, breathe and live in the moment.
What Was Something Unique About Your Catholic Church Wedding?
- Jess had 8 students from her Year 4 class attend the Nuptial Mass
- Their band for Mass and Reception (Jess and Tom have a close friendship with them for the past 5 years)
