Having a baby is such an exciting time in your life. There’s so much to plan and prepare for it’s easy to forget to book your newborn photography session until your baby has arrived. But there’s no need to panic. I often have last-minute bookings from panicked parents who worry they’ve missed the opportunity to capture those early days of their new baby’s arrival. When Madi and Guy contacted me, their little girl Ella Mae was already 6 days old. They were worried they’d missed the opportunity to capture their beautiful baby girl’s precious smallness. After all, a new baby grows so fast. But as luck would have it, I had a spot available and they made the short drive from Morayfield for a newborn photography session. Where is your newborn photography studio?
My gorgeous boutique newborn photography studio is in Lawnton, just a short 15-minute drive from Morayfield.
What should I expect during my baby’s newborn session?
When sweet baby Ella-Mae came for her newborn session, she was an absolute rock star! She was a dream to photograph and slept right through to the end when we woke her for some super-cute awake poses.

But a typical newborn session lasts anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. This all depends on how settled your baby is, how many cuddles they need, and how often they feed.
A newborn session is never rushed, it’s completely relaxed and we work around your baby’s needs.
So, don’t worry if your baby feeds constantly or likes lots of cuddles. There’s plenty of time for feeding, changing, and settling your new baby.
What if my baby won’t settle?
This is a common concern and almost every Mum and Dad worry that their newborn will cry or fuss during their session.
BUT I have tricks. For the past 7 years, I’ve photographed newborns, so I’ve learned all the tricks for settling and soothing babies.
My tricks to settling your baby newborn photographer Morayfield
- Babies love to be wrapped. Even though they always try and wriggle free, babies eventually settle into a snug cocoon and fall asleep.
- White noise. I play white noise in the studio which helps your baby feel safe and secure.
- Temperature. Because your baby was used to being toasty and warm in your tummy, my newborn photography studio is set to around 24 degrees.
What type of photos will I get?
A usual newborn session includes photos of parents with baby, individual photos of you with your baby, siblings and baby, and then baby on their own.
After your photos are done, just relax, watch some Netflix on the TV or have a nap on my couch.
Meanwhile, I’ll work my magic and photograph your baby in super cute poses and props.
What types of props do you have in your newborn studio?
I have a range of cute wooden beds, wooden bowls, baskets, and blankets. Before your session, you’ll let me know your favourite colours and props so I can prepare the studio before you arrive.
If you have any sentimental items you’d like to include, please bring them along too.

Are you vaccinated and trained?
YES! Your newborn baby’s safety is my priority. For that reason, I’m up-to-date with all my vaccinations and I’m experienced in newborn handling. I won’t attempt to pose your baby in unnatural or uncomfortable poses.
After your newborn session
This is the fun part. About 2 weeks after your baby’s newborn photos, you’ll return to the studio for your gallery viewing. Together, we’ll go through your gallery and I’ll help you choose the perfect products to display your favourite photos.

How much is a newborn photography session?
A newborn photography session is $150.
Collections including prints and digital files start at $750.
Most families invest between $1200 – $2500 on artwork and albums.
Do we get the digitals?
Yes. All purchased images include the matching digital files.
When do we get our products?
Once payment is finalised, I’ll commence work on editing your order.
Depending on the type of products you choose, collection is approximately 3-5 weeks after payment.
