Looking for an un-boring, NO cheese, full of personality & FUN photographer? Hi there! You found me.

Bec + Phil A Noosa Wedding

Bec and Phil are just the sweetest couple. I was thrilled when they booked me as their photographer for their Noosa wedding. We’d already had a practice run at the beach for their engagement shoot so I knew we were going to have a lot of fun at their Noosa wedding. And fun we had!

About the Happy Couple

Bec is a primary school teacher who moved to the coast 5 years ago from Canberra. She enjoys yoga, reading and is a vegan. And she has the cutest dog Harry, who apparently is a very good matchmaker!

“I got my dog Harry in early 2018 for some company, but also secretly hoping that he would find me a man. And I’m so glad that he did”, said Bec.

And that man is Phil! Phil is an avid surfer who loves the outdoors, especially the coast. Phil enjoys traveling, particularly to the US or Japan. And he enjoys landscape photography, which we had fun chatting about during both the engagement and wedding shoots.

And about the wedding, Phil says, “I’m now extremely grateful to call myself a husband and hope to be the best husband I can be to Rebecca”.

I think Harry is a pretty good judge of character 🙂

How You Both Met?

“On the Bumble App – initially Phil was too far away and my 50km radius didn’t reach him, but after an app update and reset he popped up in my feed. After connecting for a short time we met for our first date on Coolum Beach for a walk with my dog Harry. It was incredible that we hadn’t met here earlier as Phil regularly surfed at Coolum and Harry and I would regularly walk the same beach mere hours after Phil would be there”, says Bec.

Any Funny Stories About That Meeting?

“Harry broke the ice by doing some serious doggy doo and stealing a frisbee from a group of tourists. A hilarious ice breaker that never could have been planned”.

The Proposal

“On that same beach, Coolum Beach, 9 months later, also with Harry by our sides”.

How Long Have You Been Together?

14 months

Why did you choose Alison Cooke Photography to photograph your wedding?

“We just loved her style of photography. Her online gallery was beautiful and had a great mix of traditional, playful and candid shots. Her response to our enquiry was so prompt and she even called us soon after. It was such a nice change to the other photographers we’d tried to get in touch with”.

The Wedding Experience With Alison As Your Noosa Wedding Photographer

“We felt like we were in very capable and experienced hands. Alison notices the little things which can make all the difference during a photo shoot. Alison was extremely professional to interact with via phone or email and always got back to us promptly if we had questions”.

What was the one thing you had to have for your Noosa wedding?

“Each other and our dog Harry. It had to be in the school holidays as being a teacher I wanted to be able to go away for our anniversary every year”.

What Made Your wedding So Amazing

“The location was sentimental to us and looked absolutely beautiful! Having the ceremony and reception in the same location made everything so much easier! All of the suppliers we worked with were extremely capable and professional. Having a smaller, intimate wedding with our closest friends and family made it super special”.

How Did You Plan Your Wedding & Did You Have Help?

“Our decorators, reception manager and florist were fantastic. And they communicated well amongst themselves. Because we’d worked together previously we felt very reassured. Otherwise, I planned it all with a clear vision in mind, but being flexible along the journey”, said Bec.

Any Tips For Other Couples?

“Don’t get too hung up on the small details because you probably won’t even remember them and most of the guests won’t notice or care. Have a clear vision but be flexible and open to the ideas of the professionals you work with”

What Was Something Unique About Your Noosa Wedding?

“Having our dog Harry as the ring bearer was awesome! It lightened the mood for us and the guests. And since he was there when we first met and when we get engaged, it was important that he was at the wedding too”.

These guys also wrote letters to each other before the ceremony. It was so beautiful watching them read these before they saw each other.

Any Useful Advice for Wedding Guests?

“Make a weekend of the wedding and stay the night in a hotel nearby so you can fully enjoy the day”.
