Personlised Mother's Day Gifts Mum will LOVE

Stuck for gift ideas this Mother’s Day?

OH EM GEE! It seems like we’re just over Christmas and now Mother’s Day is right around the corner. And if you’re still scratching your head trying to find the perfect gift, don’t worry—I’ve got amazing gift ideas for Mums! Because let’s face it, we Mums are literally superheroes in disguise. And by disguise, I mean pyjamas, gym gear, or whatever your Mum’s favourite comfy outfit is. We Mums deserve nothing but the best. So whether your Mum loves big, heartwarming gestures, luxurious treats, or a little bit of cheeky humor, I’ve come up with some awesome personalised Mother’s Day gift ideas that will make her face hurt from smiling.

1. Time Together

Something so simple and doesn’t cost anything! I asked a bunch of my friends with adult kids (myself included), and they all said spending quality time with their favourite people is the best Mother’s Day gift idea ever.

And as a Mum of two adult children, I can vouch that spending quality time with my favourite humans is the actual best gift ever.

2. Plan An Outing on Mother’s Day

Taking time out from the daily grind is something we all need. And Mother’s Day is the perfect excuse for a day trip. Why not pack a picnic, go to the park or the beach, and watch the sunset? There are gorgeous beaches in Brisbane, such as Redcliffe, Woody Point, Scarborough and many beautiful parks.

One of my favourite north Brisbane locations is Bullocky’s Rest overlooking the North Pine Dam. There are playgrounds, barbeques, and picnic areas, and the scenery is spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset.

The important thing is, make sure YOU plan and organise everything. Your Mum deserves a rest on Mother’s Day.

3. Share A Spa Day – Get Personal

We Mums love a bit of pampering, and it’s even better if you share it with your favourite people. How about a day of indulgence at a day spa? Or take Mum out for a manicure, a facial, or a pedicure? Or maybe a relaxing massage followed by a lunch date?

But if a trip to the day spa or a beauty treatment isn’t in the budget, you can make your own at-home spa kit. Fill a gift box with luxury bath bombs, scented candles, a fluffy robe, a bottle of bubbles, a box of chocolates, and Mum is all set for a pamper session.

4. Pyjama Day

Yep, this made the list. One of my Mum friends said she craves a pyjama day. I mean, I work from home and do some of my best work in my pjs!

But after a hectic week of work, school pick-ups, sporting activities, music lessons and appointments, a day of slothing around in pyjamas is absolute BLISS.
So why not buy Mum some fancy new pyjamas for the occasion too? My favourite pyjamas (they’re covered in staffys) come from Peter Alexander.

They’re fun, they’re comfy, and they make you feel fabulous!

Who knew you could feel so fancy in pyjamas?

5. Jewelry – Personalised Gift Ideas

Another popular Mother’s Day gift is jewelry. In particular, Pandora. The beauty of Pandora is they have charms for every occasion. My Pandora bracelet has camera charms, wine glass charms, cocktail charms, another cocktail charm, another wine charm, and…a charm from my granddaughter 🥰

But you can buy your Mum a charm which represents something special in her life.
Pandora also have gorgeous charms that symbolise family and love 🥰

Or…you can buy Mum some personalised jewelry.  Nothing says “I love you” like a piece of jewelry with a personal touch. It could be a necklace with the kids’ names or initials, a pendant with her birthstone, or a charm with a meaningful message. Jewelry is a gift she’ll treasure forever.

6. Let Mum Sleep-In & Breakfast in Bed

Having a sleep-in is a luxury for most busy Mums. Especially if there’s a newborn in the family.

Or in my case, two cheeky staffies who snore, fart, and think they own the bed 🐶

But letting Mum have a well-earned sleep-in while the rest of the family look after the household is the best gift you can give a sleep-deprived, over-worked, or frazzled Mum.
And if you prepare a delicious breakfast for Mum and serve it to her in bed…that’s luxury!

Her Mother’s Day is made.

7. Personalised Coupons for Mothers Day

If the budget is thin, why not make some personalised coupons for Mum? Because when you’re overworked, tired, and in need of some TLC, having someone else cook dinner, clean the house, vacuum, pack the dishwasher and do the laundry, is a luxury.

It’s the BEST GIFT EVER.

And this Mother’s Day Gift idea is perfect for the young kids. It costs nothing, it’s simple, but it’s so thoughtful. And as we Mums always say…it’s the thought that counts.

8. Luxury Robes from Bourbon St

Now I don’t know about you, but when I’m feeling down, yucky, or just plain blah, I need something pretty and luxurious.

I’ll do my hair, put on some lippy and some perfume, and like magic, I’ll always feel a little better.

Am I right?

Well, the fabulous ladies behind Bourbon St get it!

Their business is all about making women feel fabulous, beautiful and special.

So, if you’re feeling down and need some extra care, check out their range of luxury robes.

Their robes are magical! Just like Harry Potter’s, but you definitely won’t be invisible.

Just slip into one of their luxurious robes and you’ll feel like the GODDESS you were born to be!

Go on, head on over to their website and check out their range of luxury lingerie for yourself.

You and your inner goddess will thank you for it 🙂

9. Do A Cooking Class

Does your Mum LOVE cooking up a storm in the kitchen? Or maybe she’s an avid foodie. But if your Mum loves cooking, or simply just eating good food, why not sign her up for a fun cooking class. Better yet—do it together and share the fun experience of becoming master chefs together.

You can even get matching chef hats 😁

10. Funny Gifts for Mother’s Day

Does your Mum have a wacky sense of humour? Then she’d probably LOVE something unique and quirky for Mother’s Day.

How about getting Mum her own, personalised ‘WORLD’S GREATEST HUGGER‘ coffee cup? Or wine glass. Whatever works.

Or maybe a personalised t-shirt with silly faces of all her family printed on it?

Maybe, she’d like her own, personalised, Mum Bobblehead.

How fun would that be?

Yes!  You can get your very own Bobblehead made to look like your Mum in weird, embarrassing, and funny situations.

Just check out the BobbleGifts website for all the fun options.

If your Mum has a wacky sense of humour, she’s bound to get a giggle from this gift idea.

11. Candles – Make Life Fancy

I admit it, I’m addicted to candles. My absolute favourites are Glasshouse Candles and Dusk candles. There’s just something a little magical about candles and fragrances.
For example, having a bath can be quite an ordinary experience. You get in, get clean, and you’re done.
But light some candles, play some music, pour a wine, and suddenly, a bath becomes a luxurious experience. I’ve sat and soaked and drunk wine in the bath for hours until I was prune-like!

I love the way candles and their scents transform a mundane task into something fancy.

12. Flowers…maybe not?

Hardly a surprise. A bouquet of flowers is right up there with a box of chocolates. And yep, while flowers are beautiful, they eventually die 🙁
Why not get Mum a pot plant instead? Plants add colour and character to your home.
And best of all, the pot plant will remind Mum of you, every time she looks at it.
As long as Mum doesn’t kill it of course 🥀

And if you’re not a hugger, buy Mum a cactus. She’ll always think of you 😂😂

13. Gift Vouchers

While a Gift Voucher may lack the personal touch, it doesn’t mean Mum won’t love it. It’s usually around Christmas, birthdays, and Mother’s Day I get bombarded with requests for photography Gift Vouchers.
Because Mums tend to put themselves last, this means family photos, visits to beauty therapists, masseuses, nail technicians, movies, and restaurants are on the bottom of Mum’s ‘to-do’ list.
Even when Mum really wants to do them.

So why not let Mum spoil herself and buy her a Gift Voucher for something she’d not normally buy?

And if your Mum or significant other would LOVE a Gift Voucher for family photos, head on over here.

14. A Handwritten Letter

This one’s totally free but absolutely priceless. Write Mum a heartfelt letter telling her how much she means to you.

I tell you, I’ve blubbered and blown many snot-bubbles reading the letters my kids wrote me when they were little. Nowadays, I don’t even get a card!

But these mementos are the ones we remember (and I’ve kept them) and look back on. So go on! Put some words to paper and tell Mum how much you love her.

15. A Personalised Subscription Box

Who doesn’t love getting a surprise each month? So, why not treat Mum to a monthly subscription box based on her favourite things.

It could be movies, gourmet snacks, self-care essentials, a wine club, gardening goodies, a gym membership, or even a subscription to a streaming app.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving and means Mum will have plenty of fun things to do in her downtime.

But…don’t forget to give Mum a coupon for extra downtime on Mother’s Day.

16. Family Portrait

Let’s face it, we Mums LOVE photos of our family. But…we’re always missing from them! Because we’re usually always the ones behind the camera or the iPhone. So, why not spoil Mum with an updated family portrait this Mother’s Day?

And…as luck would have it, I have Mother’s Day Mini Sessions for just $199.

But you don’t even need to have a professional photo taken. If you’re all together this Mother’s Day, make an effort to have a photo with your Mum.

Because it’s just one day.

And your Mum is worth the effort.

17. A Recipe Book of Mum’s Favourite Meals

What are your Mum’s favourite meals? You know, the meals that remind you of your family, gathered around the dinner table, talking about the day’s adventures.

Collect all of your Mum’s favorite recipes and mealtime traditions and put them together in a beautifully designed personalised recipe book.

It’s a meaningful keepsake that will be passed down for generations.

And then, in years to come, you and your children can still enjoy your Mum’s special spaghetti bolognaise, her secret sauce recipes, and the best banana bread ever made!
