Looking for an un-boring, NO cheese, full of personality & FUN photographer? Hi there! You found me.

Weddings at Twin Waters Golf Club – Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

When Kate and Mitch visited my studio to chat about their wedding, I was super-excited! They’d already seen me work at another wedding and were keen to book me as their Sunshine Coast wedding photographer! Their wedding was held at one of my favourite venues, Twin Waters Golf Club. If you’re looking for a venue on the Sunshine Coast, this venue has it all! And the staff go over and beyond to help couples on their wedding day.

Now, here’s a little of Kate and Mitch’s story…

The Engagement

“We went for a morning walk through the botanical gardens of Queenstown, New Zealand. At the end of the walk, Mitch guided me over to a seat with the view of the crystal waters of Lake Wakatipu and he asked me to marry him.”

What was the one thing you just had to have for your wedding day?

“I was determined to have my unconstructed teardrop bouquet and my long veil. My dream dress was; beading at the top of the dress and the rest plain. I also wanted it to be a fitted dress, low back and with a train. It was the very last shop when I was almost about to say “I will never find my perfect dress.” And the last dress I put on, I had a tear down my eye and said “This is it!”

What things about your wedding made it so amazing?

“Our theme for our bridal party was simple and elegant. We went with black bridesmaids dresses with gold jewellery and the boys were in black and white suits. The groomsmen wore bow ties and the groom wore a tie. The black and white looked amazing with the greenery around the golf course.”

How did you go about planning your wedding and did you have any help?

Our wedding venue was a venue that was not on our list. We were out for a drive and we thought we would just ‘pop’ in to have a look. And with that, we fell in love with Twin Waters Golf Club. Mitch and I did the planning. To guide me through, I used a checklist at the back of bridal magazines.

Any tips for other couples planning a Sunshine Coast wedding?

It truly is the best day of your life. The way you look at each other on your wedding day, words cannot describe. It is truly something special that you and your partner will cherish forever.  Take in every moment the best you can. I remember starting my walk and wondering where to look as we had around 100 guests at the reception. I am so glad I kept my eyes on Mitch.

Everyone will tell you the day flies by and it does! I remember asking my dad to slow down our walk so I could take it all in.

The best thing I did was print out photos and hand them to Alison, our Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, prior to our wedding day. This was to show Alison exactly what photos we wanted and to save the thought of “I wish I had got this type of photo” the next day.”

Why did you choose Alison Cooke Photography as your Sunshine Coast wedding photographer?

We attended a wedding where Alison was the photographer. We were so in awe of how she worked on the day trying to get the very best angle and light of everyone. I remember one photo she was laying down on the ground almost army crawling to get ‘that perfect shot.’ When the professional photos were uploaded we said “we want photos like these.” *insert blushing photographer here 😉

What was something unique about your wedding?

Before our bridal party entered the reception, we made little introductions about them. All our guests loved them and it was a great laugh to start the night.

Did you honeymoon, where and for how long?

Our plan was to have our honeymoon in our new house that Mitch is currently building. However the house was not ready so we went to Noosa for 2 nights. We were greeted with a petal heart and champagne waiting for us in our room.
