A Wet Wedding
In 2018 I was the wedding photographer for Emily and Greg’s north Brisbane wedding in Redcliffe. And they were so excited about their day! They planned to celebrate at home with 90 of their much-loved people; many had traveled from overseas. They would exchange wedding vows on the back deck under a gorgeous flower-covered arbor followed by a huge party. All outdoors. Everything was planned down to the last detail. Except the weather.
Wet Weddings Are Amazing Too
In typical Queensland style it rained. All day long. Now I’m not one to stress; this happens a lot and there’s nothing to be gained by stressing about the weather. You just work with it.
And with some amazing organisation from wedding planner Alexia from The Other Bridesmaid we improvised.
Afterwards, when the rain eased to a light drizzle, we all jumped in our cars for some super-quick bridal shots. I ran around like a mad women for about 30 minutes before the light disappeared, the rain started again and poor Emily nearly froze.
But at the end of it all, the rain didn’t matter. Emily & Greg still had their ‘imperfect’ perfect wedding. They were surrounded by love, their most favourite people in the world were there & they became Mr & Mrs Snow-Bell. And they couldn’t have been happier <3
