An Old Petrie Town Wedding
One of my favourite types of weddings is an Old Petrie Town wedding. It is quite literally, just a short 5 minute drive from my studio and over the years, I’ve photographed many Old Petrie Town weddings. So when Alison and Trent booked me for their wedding at Old Petrie Town I was so excited. Alison arrived in style in a beautiful red Mustang that caused quit a stir among the guests. And when exchanged their vows under the giant fig trees there were quite a few happy tears shed.
The fig trees is one the most popular settings for a ceremony as it’s cool, it’s shady and the trees make a stunning backdrop for the wedding photos. After the “I do’s” and family photos were done, we enjoyed a fun afternoon strolling the grounds of Old Petrie Town. If you’ve never visited Old Petrie Town before, it’s quite famous for its cool old buildings, old railway station and historical relics.
Old Petrie Town is situated 26km north of Brisbane and nestled among 48 acres of beautiful gardens and bushland. There are so many gorgeous locations throughout the grounds, it is simply perfect for weddings. And it’s a photographers’ dream location. One of my favourite spots for photography is the old fire station.
And of course, there are so many beautiful native Australian trees throughout the grounds. Alison and Trent had a Spring wedding so were lucky to have some gorgeous yellow wattles to add a pop of colour to their wedding photos.
For the rest of Alison and Trent’s wedding, keep scrolling through. In particular, check out their first dance! Alison used to be a professional dancer so her dance moves for their very first dance were pretty impressive!
